The third option, the miraculous one, would be for world leaders to accept science, set aside special interests, stop extracting fossil carbon, stop regarding nature as "a resource" and start talking and working togeather to find ways to support a living and resilient nature.

The High Carbon Stock Approach has yet to be implemented in the Amazon but it would help halt deforestation if it was.
