Anime News Network（アニメニューズネットワーク、ANN）は北米最大規模のアニメ紹介サイトである。アニメだけでなくマンガや音楽などオタク関連の文化を紹介している。
サイトのメイン業務はアニメ関連のニュースを英語で配信することであるが、それ以外にもユーザーが様々なことを議論できるインターネットフォーラムや、ファンがつくるアニメ・マンガのデータベース、ANNスタッフによるレビューなどがある。これらは英語で書かれていることから世界中のアニメファンからアクセスを集めている。

盾の勇者やネコぱらを2019年最悪のアニメ候補にしたサイトもこれであり、盾の勇者を政治的な理由でズタボロに書いたのもこのサイトである。その中で働いている人間の一人がこの人である。
では何故まとめたかと言うと、アニメ業界を中から乗っ取られないように注意しましょう、と言いたかっただけです。

Saw a rather gross Japanese tweet with 3k+ retweets comparing "Twitter feminists" to the goblins from Goblin Slayer. You know, the evil monsters that only exist to rape and pillage. I wouldn't compare even the worst human being I can think of to a Goblin Slayer goblin...

The logic behind the comparison was, "Goblins do all this awful crap while constantly thinking of themselves as the victims!" Putting aside the question of whether that's an accurate observation, aren't the goblins on a completely different level? They're not meant to be human

@frog_kun Dehumanising the people you don't like isn't that uncommon, but it's particularly common when it comes to feminists. The phrase 'feminazi' isn't so different to a comparison to goblins. I think particularly when citing Goblin Slayer.
2020-02-05 16:26:20嫌いな人達を人外化するのはさほどレアな事ではないが、フェミニストに対してはかなり普通に行われている。フェミナチ呼ばわりされることと、ゴブリン呼ばわりされることに、さほど違いはない。ゴブリンスレイヤーを引用しているときは特にね。

@TheGreatSurf One of my biggest problems with Goblin Slayer is that the intent is to portray them as mindless monsters, but then they have so many human-like traits and even a social hierarchy... so in-universe they're a sentient race that is 100% socially acceptable to discriminate against

@frog_kun I'm always wary of storylines that feature 'acceptable targets,' but the way the goblins are presented in Goblin Slayer as so fundamentally hateful and cruel and thus something you can kill even as children ... it's like, what is the author's problem with goblins ...?

@TheGreatSurf Their family was slain by goblins...! (jokes) I think it's a take on the classic "man vs monsters" (and by extension humans having to confront their own inner demons) story, but imo the goblins being so human-like defeats the purpose

@frog_kun You can communicate with goblins, but they're designed in such a way that communication is pointless. They hate talking to non-goblins and even if you could make peace the author made rape a part of their life cycle, so you can't imagine coexistence being possible.

2020-02-05 16:55:52ゴブリンと会話できるが、会話が無駄になるようにデザインされてる。ゴブリンでないものと会話するのが嫌いで、平和に暮らせるかと思ったらレイプを生命活動の一部に組み込んだから、共存そのものが不可能になってる。まるで人間的特徴がよりゴブリン達を可能な限り哀れに見せるためだけにあるような感じだ。

@ToastCrust @frog_kun Yeah, it has its origins on 2ch and Kagyu was taking suggestions from the comments. That's why so many of the characters are lifts from other works, because people would be like 'hey throw Lancer in' and so on.
