Firstly they make it difficult to get into attacking areas to play PNR. See @FCBbasket pick the ball up at HC and 'pin it' to the centre court logo & push out PNRs to '5pt line'. Here's another example of @FCBbasket disrupting a team from getting into PNR play. Here, they push the big's catch from the sideline out to the 5pt line and top block the pass to the PG - stopping the PNR from taking place. One of the best ways of cancelling screens is to not allow PNR Creators to handle the bal. See here. Look at the work by FCB defenders to cancel off ball screens & deny catches especially to main PNR player (#7). Being high on your player is crucial to cancelling actions. See here: Zipper is TOP blocked & PNR creator forced to a flat angle off PNR. Since D is HIGH on Zipper he can switch & ICE the pistol. Speaking of separation, a common way for teams to create it for the PNR creator is have them come off another screen.
