I have no opinion on the Will Smith thing, but my wife sees it as an example of toxic masculinity, and as a man reducing his wife to an object that needs to be protected, rather than an independent being capable of defending themselves, which works out because I'm a pacifist.

Honestly if Jada had a problem with the joke she should have dealt with it herself as a strong independent black woman. I don’t know what Will Smith is trying to prove to a woman who has made you a public ridicule in so many instances.
