Moving on, Kameda and Oguro was so surprised when they found out Ootsuka Akio was chosen to voice Ekubo. Reading the manga, they felt like Ekubo is just a side gag character, while Ootsuka is a very senior and respectable seiyuu. The gap though

I'm back from the dead so lemme continue this thread! LOL Next one they talked a lot about Kawai Kenji, the soundtrack composer for MP100 *Note: during the entire talkshow, the soundtracks were played as the BGM and they often commented on it!

( There was this one moment where 「最上という男の脳内」Mogami's OST was being played during the break time, and I had to go to the restroom in the middle of the night accompanied with that creepy af song RIP )

Kawai Kenji is notable for his music in horror movies like The Ring, and action movies like Ip Man. But he also said he actually wanted to try comedy so he got in to Mob Psycho!

Another surprising fact: Kawai named all the mp100 OST titles by himself. Usually in the anime industry, the titles aren't decided by the composer.

And the more interesting one: since 'percentage' is a huge element in mp100, Tachikawa uses those percentages to describe the vibe of the music he wanted to Kawai. For example, for this part it's 80% usankusai (shady) Reigen, and that part is 100% Mob's emotions, etc.

Next, they talked abt the onsen from the OVA (since we also screened the OVA) It was based on a real onsen inn and Tachikawa actually went there for gathering references. He said it's rly recommended! (I forgot the name but I'll reply to this once I find out ><) pic.twitter.com/Bw7nv3uFsI

About episode 4 and 5 (Mogami's arc), Tachikawa confessed the budget is twice than the usual episodes... which pretty much explains the quality of the battle animation *Cmiiw pls. Tbh I'm not quite sure if it's ep 4&5 or 6&7 they were talking abt, lost my memory there 💦

About the Cafe Honpo Collab! Until 12/4, mp100 is doing a collab with the theme of サバゲー (Survival Game, or usually known as Airsoft). The illustrations have been revolving around recently so it's nothing new, but I love how Tachikawa commented Teru's hair looks like ramen 🤣 pic.twitter.com/wdyVqMKhpT

Oguro didn't know abt the collab so he was genuinely shocked and misunderstood: ''whoa they're doing a collab with a cafe in Sabage*?!'' And everyone laughed rly hard n like ''Nooo it's just a normal cafe, but the illustration theme is Sabage!'' *Sabage = survival game

As they scrolled through the presentations, there was actually a slide abt Crunchyroll Expo. But unfortunately, they didn't have time to talk abt it 😢 They had the CRX photos they posted on Twitter on the slides.

The talkshow was done in the beginning of the event, so the guests didn't sit through the 7-hour screening marathon. At the end, they all wished us luck for watching and told us that it's completely fine to sleep in some episodes cuz humans need sleep lmao

Kameda: But pls, at least stay awake at the episodes that I worked on! (again, he mentioned the episodes but I forgot 😣) Tachikawa: And also, obviously, ep 6 and 7 (separation arc). I believe no one will dare to sleep on those two ep Oguro: I do hope you can watch all though!

That's all for the event report! Thanks for reading this far 💕✨ I might add more tho if I remember something. Here have @jujujulieta's sleeping Reigen on the cinema chair u_u pic.twitter.com/MRBDo2YTWo

Mob Psycho 100 II worked with 7000-8000 animation drawings per episode on average. Episode 6 used only around 3000 and still looked great. Episode 7 had approximately 6000. Episode 5’s big animation spectacle required over 14000, which is about 3 times of a standard TV episode.

Just to clarify, the number of drawings isn’t really representative of the quality, but rather the cost. And even then there are numerous other factors that can influence it. So please take this info just as a trivia.
