UNOSAT damage assessment map shows 11% of all buildings in Port-au-Prince destroyed, another 20% damaged. Worst concentrations are in slums.

Reps from both UNOSAT and UN OCHA have told us today that OpenStreetMap has been an invaluable resource throughout the Haiti crisis reponse.

Rumor has it that the Google Mapmaker team were disappointed with its uptake because OpenStreetMap contributions turned around much faster.

Port-au-Prince is an architectural funhouse hall of mirrors. A lot of the buildings are recognizable but eye-bendingly warped.
