南磁極にあるニュートリノ観測施設 IceCube．毎日1TBデータが生成されて，100GBは衛星で転送してるけど，積み残しは船で運搬してるらしい．シグナルの100万倍ぐらいノイズがあるとか大変なデータ．

こんなに紛糾したコミュニティミーティングを始めてみた．二つ候補があったから2年に分けて順にするという特例でもめた．またダブリンはKDDに2018に手を挙げてるらしくさらにもめた．結局，スコピエのチェアが2018年への延期を申し出て2017年ダブリン，2018年はスコピエとなった

三つ目の招待講演は Dino Pedreschi さん．いつ見てもダンディである．私の研究分野公正配慮型DMをKDD2008年に提唱されていた関係で一度ご挨拶させていただいた．今日は携帯の通話・位置履歴データの分析について．

最初は移動履歴から居住・通勤・訪問などを分類し人口動態を推定したところ国勢調査データと0.989と非常に高い相関だった．貧困との関連では，通話相手のエントロピーを計算すると，エントロピーの高さ＝通話相手が特定だと貧困と高い相関があり，社会状況の予測ができる．

上位k個の訪問先の距離の標準偏差と訪問先全体の距離の標準偏差をプロットすると，同様の訪問先の returner とあちこちに行く explorer に非常にクリアに分かれた．ネットワーク科学は大域的な分析，データマイニングは局所的なパターンで，これら融合していく必要と．
