Bridget’s Strive theme, “The Town Inside Me” feels like such a celebration, coming-of-age trans anthem. It brings me a lot of joy as a trans fighting game player who grew up playing guilty gear.

It is a little funny, but also sad, that the response to Bridget also mirrors how certain people react when celebrities come out as trans. Like the people "betrayed" that Elliot Page came out as trans, the people angry about Bridget are echoing the same sentiments.

I've seen people come out as trans, then find a middle ground in being nonbinary. I've seen people who once identified as nonbinary decide they are in fact binary. Everyone's journey of self-discovery is different.

Was there any reason why she had to "prolong the guise of being a woman" for her parents sake anymore? Why does she continue to dress femme? I think this is where her mindset is in her arcade mode when Goldlewis makes his comment: a mindset of questioning of what makes her happy.

And by the end of the arcade ladder, all conversations with Ky and Goldlewis are of not "you should be a girl", but "you have the freedom to work toward your own happiness and we'll be here to help you on your journey." But that's how I, a transwoman, read into it.
