index の複数、 "indices" か "indexes" のどっちをどう使うべきか
@finalfusion Websterだと最初がindexesで次がindicesだよ。http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/index。
2010-11-13 23:15:08.@android_dreams What is the difference between "indexes" and "indices"? I think "indices" is for technical (especially math.).
2010-11-13 23:26:09@ytaniike "I sorted the array using the index i' "We sorted the matrix using indices i,j and k'
2010-11-13 23:27:21@ytaniike "The stock market has many indexes such as Dow Jones, FTSE"
2010-11-13 23:29:12.@android_dreams I do know that :D I want to know about how do you decide which plural form of "index" you use; 'indexes' or 'indices'?
2010-11-13 23:30:43@ytaniike Use indices to denote elements; indexes refers more to something that stores data; e.g. a lookup table = index; elements denot..
2010-11-13 23:31:52@ytaniike ..ted by indices. 'To retrieve data from the indexes A and B we use the indices i,j i.e. A[i] = INDEX[incides]'
2010-11-13 23:32:27@ytaniike In other words 'Two indexes of financial info, e.g. Dow Jones' and 'we denote the matrix with indicies i and j; M[i,j]'
