@crjs20 Yes, they say it should be EPUB, but their logo says ePUB: http://t.co/PwSMi070 #bib11

I don't really get why trapped. RT @booksquare: "trapped in indesign" sounds like a horror story for books. #bib11

Idea: if track changes sucks, what about Git + ePub? Text based, after all.

2011-10-28 01:36:49
Kat Meyer @KatMeyer

I'm starting to feel sorry for Word. Everyone is hating on Word. Poor Word. :( #BiB11

Cedric Chin @ejames_c

@blaine is now showing a Github changelog. A little difficult to explain to a non-technical audience, but I admire the courage! #bib11

Cedric Chin @ejames_c

Only problem is that people would have to switch to text based workflows. EPUB works, but Word binaries don't.

2011-10-28 01:38:29
Cedric Chin @ejames_c

Does Git track Word as a binary? I can't remember. #bib11

Liz Castro @lizcastro

@KatMeyer Me, me! I hate Word too. Haven't used it seriously for years. #bib11

2011-10-28 01:39:10
Cedric Chin @ejames_c

@riordan It also means that you'd have to *force* publishers and writers to switch over from Word, which is the dominant format.

Kat Meyer @KatMeyer

@andrewsavikas cruel cruel book people. Clippy cries himself to sleep every night b/c of people like you #bib11

2011-10-28 01:40:43
Cedric Chin @ejames_c

Using Git in a publishing workflow means that you *need* to use text-based formats. Tough sell for people who're used to Word. #bib11

RT @thelib: Brewster #Kahle says: "Libraries have been distributed systems historically, but digitization has been centralized." #BIB11

Cedric Chin @ejames_c

Idea: Markdown first, then convert to HTML, EPUB, Mobi? Works just fine with Git, and Markdown is writer friendly. #bib11
