The first human received an implant from @Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well. Initial results show promising neuron spike detection.

The first Human Patient has successfully received Musk's Neuralink (Telepathy) Brain Implant The big news today, is that Elon Musk has confirmed that his Neuralink company has successfully installed the now called "Telepathy" brain implant into the first human patient, and results are "promising" already. Details are scare at the moment regarding the "first human patient", but after years of delays, Neuralink did announced late last year they had started recruiting patients for a clinical trial after finally getting approval from the U.S. FDA and a hospital ethics board. Musk's ultimate goal is to "achieve a symbiosis with artificial intelligence", but currently the "Telepathy" brain implant will allow paralyzed people to control a cursor or keyboard with just their human brains. It will take at least six years for the first phase of the clinical trial on participants at least 22 years old, that are quadriplegia, (paralysis in all four limbs, due to cervical spinal cord injury or ALS), afterwards we will see what Musk and Neuralink's next step will be, so it might be decades before we see an full on-board AI brain implant in regular humans which have all their flesh, muscles and bones working normally. As for the "first human patient", it may take months before we see any videos of the patient successfully using the implant to control a computer or other device, even through Musk tweeted that the patient was "recovering well" and that "initial results show promising neuron spike detection". What are your thoughts on "brain implants"? Would you get one in few decades if it offered full AI power to your brain? If we are already afraid of AI now in its current state, how would the world treat humans walking around with the power AI inside their head, able to outperform quickly any task their mind thinks about in flash, compared to us naturally born without any biotech-implants humans?
