W3C Workshop on Annotations #ianno14
Big question for #ianno14 is accessibility of Annotations. ARIA is part of the solution, need to figure the bridges to others.
2014-04-03 01:26:56.@AnnaGerber Lots of use cases beyond web pages: 3d models, annotating semantics, textual variants, dynamic images w/ diff req'ts #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:30:14really good overview by @AnnaGerber of reqs for scholarly annotations - e.g citable, including private annot, migration, copyright #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:32:05.@AnnaGerber channeling #sharedcanvas critical use case of non-digitized manuscript as part of #annotation requirement masterclass #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:34:36.@annagerber: shared model not enough, need agreed upon protocols and APIs - much room to grow in implementation area #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:35:25See http://t.co/k0vGTPOu4H for what's happening at #ianno14 today (April 2)
2014-04-03 01:37:55.@AnnaGerber: "We're never going have generic annotation interfaces" #ianno14 Let's find the right coupling btw components, mash, and play.
2014-04-03 01:38:06#ianno14 @W3C Web Annotations Workshop: great @tilgovi intro noted #webmention & #microformats. GDoc slides: http://t.co/k6FsZNbrXb
2014-04-03 01:38:44in religious texts, referencing “he” said to “him” as “Jesus" speaking to “Paul” in an annotation syntax @Logos #ianno14

2014-04-03 01:43:12Wow. @seanboisen speaking at #ianno14: @Logos has word-by-word, cross-translation, bible references
2014-04-03 01:43:42Using annotation to connect the ancient greek and hebrew of the bible to translated versions at the word level! @seanboisen #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:43:57LIVE STREAM >> Footnotes, comments, bookmarks, marginalia on the Web W3C Workshop on Annotations http://t.co/vr1iO2kmje #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:45:28.@seanboisen at #ianno14 Saul 10:1 still ambiguous between variants; segment identification is always a hard problem. Esp cross language.
2014-04-03 01:45:30perhaps biggest, most developed field of annotation: scripture study. Interesting work by @Logos software presented by @seanboisen #ianno14
2014-04-03 01:46:07LOTS of very interesting experience in annotations brought to bear by @seanboisen presentation of Logos Bible Software #ianno14

2014-04-03 01:59:27@nickstenning 'We are at the very beginning of a long process of doing standardization of #webannotation.' #ianno14
2014-04-03 02:08:35@nickstenning "It's important that we have interoperability." #ianno14
2014-04-03 02:10:40.@nickstenning: Annotation requires: many User Interactions, via a few Protocols, over one shared Data Model. #ianno14
2014-04-03 02:12:24@nickstenning Does anyone know of proposals to allow user trusted code to run in the DOM in a standard way? #crickets #ianno14
2014-04-03 02:14:16.@nickstenning Bookmarklets are going to die, as the nasty cross-site scripting hack they are. & no proposals for solutions yet. #ianno14
2014-04-03 02:14:44.@nickstenning "Build for pluralism." #ianno14
2014-04-03 02:14:48.@nickstenning Either need to specify /everything/ :( or build for pluralism of interfaces and experiences. #ianno14 // spot on as always
