★ツイート集2「弱視について」弱視は視覚障害の一つで、視力が弱く眼鏡等を用いても矯正出来ない物を言います。弱視は一人一人見え方が異なる為誤解される事も多いのが現状です。弱視についてツイート集でご紹介します。

(2-1) 弱視の人は様々な症状を抱えている場合が殆どです。視力障害、視野狭窄、中心暗転、色盲など、様々な症状が組み合わさっています。それ故弱視の人の見え方には大きな個人差があります。

(2-2) 見え方に個人差がある為、支援方法も一人一人異なります。本を読むにも拡大コピー、拡大読書器、レンズ等様々なオプションがありますし、見やすい色も異なります。黒より青が見やすい人、白地に黒い文字より黒地に白い文字の方が見やすい人等、様々です。

(2-3) 弱視の人の中には、視野がなく歩行は難しくても細かい文字は工夫すれば読める人や、逆に中心部が見えず文字を読むのは大変でも視野はあり人混みを颯爽と闊歩出来る人もいます。それ故「見えてるのに」と誤解されることも少なくありません。

(2-4) また視覚障害者が持つ白杖に関しても「全盲の人の物」という印象が強いようですが、白杖は弱視者も使います。必ずしも地面についていなくても、見えにくいことを示す目印として持つ場合も多くあります。

(2-5) 弱視についても白杖の使用方法に関しても、「見えてるのに」と批判的な目で見るのではなく、「弱視なのかな」と考えて貰えるよう、一人一人の「弱視」という言葉の認識が変われば、弱視者ももう少し生きやすい世の中になるのではないかと思います。

(2-1) Amblyopia means persons with weak vision and unable to correct by using glasses or contact lenses.

(2-2) Amblyopia has variety of types so people with amblyopia are easily misunderstood.

(2-3) EX: some have narrow eyesight and are hard to walk crowded areas, but SOME of these can read books like non-disabled people.

(2-4) And some others have eyesight to walk easily, but have difficulties to read books: they're hard to use center part of their eyesight.

(2-5) Since there're many types, the way to support them differes between individuals as well.

(2-6) Ex: when reading a book, some prefer enlarged copies, others may prefer a machine which expands small letters, or lenses.

(2-7) The color which is confortable to read also differ among individuals.

(2-8) Ex: some may prefer black letters with white background, and others may prefer opposite.

(2-9) About white canes, meny people in Japan seems to have a stereotype that the white canes are only for the blind people.

(2-10) But people with amblyopia also use white canes to tell people that we can't see very well.

(2-11) When you see someone using white cane though he/she seems to be not blind, maybe they have weak/narrow eyesight: amblyopia.

(2-12) If public images toward amblyopia (in Japan) change a little, this society will be easier to live for people with amblyopia.
