@kounosuke0808 Please find professional translators from Japanese to English (and other languages) and don't hand them machine translation scripts. There are enough excellent translators who can do the job. 😊 機械翻訳使うより初めからプロ翻訳者を採用すれば各言語の作品はずーっと良いでしょうか。

@chouxchama @dormant000 @kounosuke0808 The problem comes down to "activist localizers" who try to alter works to suit their own views, or think they "know better" than the author. There plenty of good translators out there, but this small group really poisoned the well on Twitter.

@IdiotWalon @dormant000 @kounosuke0808 Just saying this: This whole discourse is totally blown out of proportion on Twitter and stems from a load of assumptions + lack of insight into work processes. Anyway, this post was about something else. :) Translation has always been a difficult craft, in every language pair!

It's a lack of integrity at best. It's very unprofessional and has alienated a large number of fans. There's more nuance, but I'm out of
