Fix Disadvantages in Education-from Neurophysiologic perspective
Fix Disadvantages in Education—from Neurophysiologic Perspective
2010-10-02 14:10:24The issues of the inflexibility of social stratifications are attributed to the inequality of the accessibility to education.
2010-10-02 14:10:32Children those with the underprivileged families are not only suffered from the sociological disadvantages,
2010-10-02 14:11:53but they are also from the neurophysiologic disadvantages by social stress due to their low socioeconomic status.
2010-10-02 14:12:04Children with low SES families perceive much more stress than those with high SES families,
2010-10-02 14:12:26because the former can face more unsolvable events, than the latter (Holman & Silver, 1998; Thoits, 1994).
2010-10-02 14:12:40When individuals perceived stress from the environment, hypothalamus automatically secretes the CRH.
2010-10-02 14:13:04It stimulates anterior pituitary to secrete ACTH to adrenal grounds. Then these grounds secrete GC.
2010-10-02 14:13:34Influx of GC by stress forestalls neurogenesis in hippocampus, which contributes to the quantity and quality of memory.
2010-10-02 14:13:41The stress ultimately is detrimental to memory, which has a tremendous impact on the accomplishment of school.
2010-10-02 14:13:59In sum, those with the low SES family are prone to lose appropriate capabilities of memorization:
2010-10-02 14:16:55it caused by much stress compare to those with high SES families.
2010-10-02 14:18:35It therefore makes it difficult for those with underprivileged families to move upward social stratifications.
2010-10-02 14:19:42It is necessarily to consider the way to reduce stress of the individual—
2010-10-02 14:21:05from the disadvantaged environment— in order to construct more flexible social stratifications
2010-10-02 14:21:28stratifications as well as considering the way to fair educational opportunities. Fix Disadvantages in Education (END)
