I returned to Earth safely. Thank you very much for your support.
2011-11-26 09:37:12Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day. For me it was a day of expressing appreciation to everyone who supported the space flight.
2011-11-26 09:37:58Now, let me talk about post-flight body change.
2011-11-26 09:40:29Right after landing, I felt great, but my body was like a jellyfish. My body’s center of gravity was not clear to me. Hard to stand & walk.
2011-11-26 09:42:08Lack of sense of balance made me feel dizzy and sick when I looked down.
2011-11-26 09:43:15I easily stumbled, because my thighs I thought I raised were not high enough to walk.
2011-11-27 08:04:47From a medical doctor’s. perspective. Vestibule, located in inner ear, is a gravity sensor.
2011-11-27 08:05:13My vestibule got so accustomed to weightlessness that it was an adaptation process to gravity.
2011-11-27 08:07:10Here’s a hypothesis. I was able to raise my legs with small force in weightlessness because I didn’t need to think about my legs’ weight.
2011-11-27 08:07:43Even on Earth my brain ordered to move the leg muscles with the same amount of small force, resulting in my thighs being raised little.
2011-11-28 10:07:40Landing day cont’d. Felt like my body, esp head, got very heavy. Strongly felt my head’s existence and my neck muscles supporting my head.
2011-11-28 10:08:11Then I flew back to Houston by a NASA plane. I was asleep almost all the way back.
2011-11-28 10:10:11The very bottom part of my body, for example my buttock, hurt when I lay down or sat because it was where my weight was put on. Help me out!
2011-11-28 10:10:44I felt the weight of things about twice as heavy as I had used to feel (a piece of paper, a pencil, a notebook, cell-phone, etc.).
2011-11-28 10:27:42Lying on the bed, I thought “I would fly and get a thing on the ceiling if I pushed the bed here at this point.”
