How much influence does this company have compared to Boeing? Zero. Yet they were able to get away with basically the same thing. Whatever fault lies with Boeing on the MAX issue, FAA has been pretty consistent in not making mfrs provide real aerodynamic data to pilots.
2021-08-03 22:36:27My comments here, by the way, are a distillation of long discussions with both an original designer of the 182 and an NTSB investigator involved in the accident investigation - although these discussions occurred years ago and I’d since mentally tabled the topic.

2021-08-05 01:29:53Btw, John Rodgers is on the outskirts of Honolulu.

2021-08-06 09:49:05A Boeing 737 MAX arrives in Shanghai for validation flight tests. This is a key step toward regulatory approval for the MAX to return to service in China. Still some way to go politically, but even this step wouldn't be allowed without Chinese government approval twitter.com/Flying_Panda74…

2021-08-12 10:56:28As Boeing moves ahead with China to re-certify the 737 Max with test flights, there’s an unsettling template for the uncertainty the company faces. The ATR 42-600 had its own test flight last summer with the CAAC and the turboprop is still waiting. bit.ly/2XkkISG

2021-08-13 06:06:10This is very interesting. In June, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the publication of the final reports on the 737 Max crashes was a pre-requisite for the jet’s return to service in China. The Ethiopian 302 final report has not yet been published. bit.ly/3fYMSsZ pic.twitter.com/R63NIJuYDe
