cliché、idiom は数も多いので、頻繁に使われるものだけを解説した本があればいいんですけどねー。in a nutshell みたいな。

2012-06-15 23:40:20(クリシェ) a dragon lady :非常に強く狡猾な女性。1930年代のコミック、"Terry and the Pirates"に出てきた中国人女性のキャラより。18世紀中頃までdragon=(男性・女性のどちらも)強い人だったのが、次第に女性だけに使われることに。
